Amanda Righetti Movies
Actress Amanda Righetti personified the ability had by some to catch the eye of television producers with one small, recurring part and spin that into a more permanent and higher-profile success. A native of St. George, UT (and the youngest of eight children), Righetti grew up in Las Vegas, NV, and enjoyed her first taste of fame with a multi-episode run as Hailey on the Fox network's prime-time soap opera The O.C. Though it failed to evolve into a permanent role, it so impressed the program's producers that they insisted on retaining Righetti for a follow-up assignment -- as a regular character, Tessa Lewis, on the Fox ensemble drama North Shore (2004). Unfortunately, that series only lasted one season, as did a regular role on a Fox follow-up series, Jon Harmon Feldman's experimental drama Reunion (2005). Righetti then moved into features, becoming something of a scream queen in horror-oriented work. Projects included director Victor Garcia's Return to House on Haunted Hill (2007) and the 2009 remake of the iconic 1980 slasher film Friday the 13th. She also returned to regular TV work in the fall of 2008, with a supporting role as rookie Grace Van Pelt on the detective drama The Mentalist, opposite Simon Baker. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

A man in search of his missing sister stumbles across a deadly secret in the woods surrounding Crystal Lake as Texas Chainsaw Massacre redux duo Michael Bay and Marcus Nispel resurrect one of the silver screen's most feared slashers -- machete-wielding, hockey mask-wearing madman Jason Voorhees. The last time Clay heard from his sister, she was headed toward Crystal Lake. There, amidst the creaky old cabins and moss-coated trees, an unstoppable force of evil lies quietly dormant, patiently waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Though the police and locals all warn Clay to stay as far away from Crystal Lake as possible, it's the only lead he has, and he isn't willing to give up until he finds his sister. Clay isn't the only one inhabiting these woods either, because a group of thrill-seeking college students have just arrived at Crystal Lake hoping for a wild weekend of fun in the sun. Later, as Clay and one of the recently arrived revelers search for clues, the infamous Jason Voorhees emerges to show them just why the locals have avoided these woods for years. Could it be that Clay's sister has already met a grim demise at the end of Jason's razor-sharp machete, or is she still out there somewhere in the woods, waiting for her brother to come to her rescue? Freddy vs. Jason scribes Damian Shannon and Mark Swift pen the screenplay for a remake executive produced by Sean S. Cunningham (producer/director of the original Friday the 13th). ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A pair of irresponsible energy drink salesmen realize that serving a month of hard time is nothing compared to spending 150 hours in a community mentorship program after they trash the company truck and find themselves at the mercy of the court in this comedy starring Seann William Scott and Paul Rudd. Wheeler (Scott) and Danny (Rudd) wouldn't necessarily be the first people a parent would turn to when seeking out a babysitter, in fact, they probably wouldn't even make the list in the first place. After slamming a few too many Minotaur energy drinks and crashing the company truck, however, the two loose-living pals narrowly avert jail when the court decides to let them become mentors to a group of young misfits. But how is the recently dumped Danny supposed to help bashful, role-playing geek Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) become a man when all he can offer the boy is bitter sarcasm, and is beer-chugging man-child Wheeler really the best choice to help foul-mouthed fifth-grader Ronnie (Bobb'e J. Thompson) develop more respect for his elders? Probably not, but they'll have to do their best anyway when the center's ex-con director (Jane Lynch) confronts them with a harsh ultimatum. Now, if Wheeler and Danny can just make it through the rest of their probation without getting tossed in jail, maybe there's hope for the boys -- and Danny's relationship with his fed-up girlfriend (Elizabeth Banks) -- after all. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

When the lone survivor of the original excursion to The House on Haunted Hill dies under suspicious circumstances, her sister returns to the foreboding mansion to solve the mystery of her sibling's death in the feature directorial debut of former make-up special effects artist Victor Garcia (Hellboy). Back in 1931, malevolent doctor Richard Vannacut and his entire staff at the hilltop asylum were killed when the patients revolted and set the institution ablaze. Ever since then, rumors have persisted that the spirits of those consumed in the inferno still haunt the hospital. Those rumors seemed to be confirmed when, in 1999, billionaire Steven H. Price and his guests were viciously slaughtered in the refurbished mansion. Though the authorities officially blamed Price himself for the gruesome massacre, survivor Sarah Wolfe insists that there was indeed a supernatural element at play. Now, eight years have passed since that fateful night, and Sarah's sister Ariel - a successful editor at a popular men's fashion magazine - has just received word that Sarah has committed suicide. Immediately sensing foul play, Ariel's suspicions are confirmed when a strange book arrives in the mail shortly thereafter. Sent by Sarah just before she died, the book proves to be Vannacut's personal diary. According to the diary, which Ariel manages to translate with a little help from archeologist Richard Hammer, an ancient Baphomet idol is hidden somewhere deep within the sprawling estate. In her last days, Sarah had become convinced that the idol was the source of the house's evil. Richard, too, shares this belief, and with the help of graduate students Michelle and Kyle he is determined to find the idol. But Ariel isn't about to go on a ghost hunt in the same mansion where so may atrocities have occurred, at least not until she is kidnapped by Desmond Niles and his vicious band of mercenaries. They too seek the Baphomet idol, and they too will soon discover why few people who venture into the former asylum ever come out alive. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The weekly, hour-long Fox drama series Reunion covered 20 years in the lives of the six protagonists, from high school graduation in 1986 to adulthood in 2006. As conceived by creator Jon Harmon Feldman (Tru Calling), each episode would cover a different year, with different casts and locales, all leading up to the murder of one of the main characters in "the present." For season one, scenes of a police interrogation in 2005 led to flashbacks of 1986, allowing viewers tantalizing "then and now" glimpses of the principals, and providing clues as to who would be killed, who would be the killer, and why it all happened. Featured in the cast were Amanda Righetti as Jenna, Alexa Davalos as Samantha, Will Estes as Will, Sean Faris as Craig, Gregory Harrison as Russell Bennett, Dave Annable as Aaron, Chyler Leigh as Carla, and Mathew St. Patrick as Detective Marjorino. Reunion premiered September 8, 2005. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Elsewhere, Seth (Adam Brody) has an uncomfortable meeting with Summer's (Rachel Bilson) father, and Theresa (Navi Rawat) seems curiously anxious to avoid Ryan (Ben McKenzie). ~ Rovi

Recovering from his near-fatal accident, Luke makes an effort to come clean before exiting the O.C. for good. And in keeping with the title of this episode, Caleb (Alan Dale) startles everyone by proposing to the love of his life. ~ Rovi
When this final episode of The O.C.'s first season originally aired in May of 2004, producer Josh Schwartz refused to reveal any plot details, though he made a tantalizing promise: "I think people will be upset, but they won't be disappointed." As expected, most of the episode is taken up with the wedding of gold-digging Julie Cooper (Melinda Clarke) and scheming Caleb Nichol (Alan Dale). However, there is still time aplenty to deal with other major plot developments -- not least of which is Theresa's (Navi Rawat) announcement that she is pregnant, and that Ryan (Ben McKenzie) is possibly the father. ~ Rovi
Caleb (Alan Dale) and Julie (Melinda Clarke) separately embark upon their respective pre-wedding parties. Caleb goes to Las Vegas with the "guys," whereupon Ryan (Ben McKenzie) and Seth (Adam Brody) land in a heap of trouble. And while staging Julie's party at the Cohen house, Kirsten (Kelly Rowan) impishly introduces some male strippers. Elsewhere, Summer (Rachel Bilson) pines over Seth, Caleb may or may not have a hidden agenda vis-à-vis his upcoming marriage, and Theresa (Navi Rawat) delivers some shocking news for Ryan and Marissa (Mischa Barton). ~ Rovi
Flamboyant Hailey Nichol (Amanda Righetti) finds out the hard way that she is not entirely welcome in the Newport home of her sister, Kirsten (Kelly Rowan), and brother-in-law, Sandy (Peter Gallagher). And while attending a concert where Rooney is performing, Oliver (Taylor Handley) gets into big trouble; will Ryan (Ben McKenzie) come to the rescue despite Oliver's suspiciously close friendship with Marissa (Mischa Barton)? ~ Rovi
Hailey (Amanda Righetti) is left in the lurch when her father, Caleb (Alan Dale), returns from Europe and cuts off her cash supply. Sandy (Peter Gallagher) and Jimmy (Tate Donovan) go into business together, intent upon taking over Newport's popular Lighthouse restaurant. A spiteful Summer (Rachel Bilson) comes between Anna (Samaire Armstrong) and Seth (Adam Brody) during a "special moment." The sullen Luke (Chris Carmack) reaches out to another unlucky-in-love O.C.er. And Oliver (Taylor Handley) once again proves to be the fly in the ointment. ~ Rovi
As Valentine's Day approaches, the O.C.ers prepare for a big "Singles" benefit bash. And speaking of singles: Luke (Chris Carmack) may have a new love in his life (or so he thinks); Seth (Adam Brody) acts upon some interesting romantic advice in his dealings with Summer (Rachel Bilson); and newly divorced Jimmy (Tate Donovan) is in for a surprise. The most prominent crisis of the heart occurs between Ryan (Ben McKenzie) and Marissa (Mischa Barton); still hoping that Ryan will forgive her about her episode with Oliver, Marissa reveals her true feelings when Ryan's former Chino girlfriend Theresa (Navi Rawat) shows up to cater the benefit. ~ Rovi
Destined to run an impressive 27 hour-long episodes (as opposed to the usual 22), season one of The O.C. wastes little time in setting up its premise: trouble-prone teenager Ryan Atwood (Ben McKenzie), booted out of his Chino home and apparently foredoomed to a life of crime, is "rescued" by idealistic pro bono defense attorney Sanford "Sandy" Cohen (Peter Gallagher). Over the initial protests of his former beauty-queen wife, Kirsten (Kelly Rowan), Sandy invites Ryan to live in the pool house of the Cohens' lavish Newport Beach home in California's very upscale Orange County. Quickly making friends with the Cohen's intellectual-loner son, Seth (Adam Brody), Ryan also makes a good impression on his attractive next-door neighbor Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton) -- much to the disgust of Marissa's jock boyfriend, Luke Ward (Chris Carmack). Unfolding in a serial-like fashion, the remainder of the season details the disintegrating marriage of Marissa's parents, Jimmy Cooper (Tate Donovan) and his avaricious wife, Julie (Melinda Clarke) (who later has an affair with the cast-off Luke); Sandy's job switch, which causes friction in his relationship with Kirsten vis-à-vis his sexy new law partner Rachel Hoffman (Bonnie Somerville); the decision by Sandy and Jimmy to jointly purchase Newport Beach's favorite restaurant, the Lighthouse; Marissa's self-destructive behavior during a vacation in Mexico, and her ill-fated association with the duplicitous Oliver Trask (Taylor Handley); Seth's dilemma as he tries to choose between two girlfriends, Summer Roberts (Rachel Bilson) and Anna Stern (Samaire Armstrong); and the disruptive machinations of Kirsten's high-rolling father, Caleb (Alan Dale), and her hedonistic sister, Hailey (Amanda Rhigetti). The cliffhanger climax of The O.C.'s first season is dominated by two major events: the wedding of the series' two most selfish and mercenary characters, and some devastating news delivered by Theresa (Navi Rawat), Ryan's former girlfriend from his Chino days. ~ Rovi
New Year's Eve promises to be a chaotic occasion for the O.C.ers. Meanwhile, Ryan (Ben McKenzie) and Marissa (Mischa Barton) find that their plans to spend a quiet evening at home are threatened by the presence of the redoubtable Oliver Trask (Taylor Handley), who is arranging a New Year's bash of his own. And Seth (Adam Brody), who seemingly lost both Summer (Rachel Bilson) and Anna (Samaire Armstrong) when he was unable to choose between them, gets a surprise visit from one of them for the big midnight celebration. ~ Rovi
