Though I recognize the fact that European tolerance for sexuality in movies is significantly more liberal than that of American tastes - short of those who partake in pornography - and I by no means consider myself a Puritanical prude, but I found the abundance of explicit and graphic sexual activity in 1900 to be more than over-the-top. What surprised me most was that an actor of the caliber of Robert DeNiro would involve himself in such an unrestrained orgy. Do Europeans have no imagination? I guess Americans tend to go overboard with the violence...leaving Europeans to take up the slack in skin. Oh...and the movie was for the most part a boring diatribe. Two thumbs down.
