Upon receiving a disturbing online video of his best friend drunk and wildly firing guns into the air, Michael (Peter Cilella) heads out to find his troubled buddy Chris (Vinny Curran) and get him some help. Chris has holed himself up in an unfinished cabin located on a Native American reservation. When the drugged-out dude refuses to leave, Michael handcuffs him to a pipe and forces him to go through withdrawal. Meanwhile, Michael discovers a load of abandoned electrical equipment nearby, and strange visitors start appearing at their door -- along with troubling videotapes that portend bad things for the two friends. Diego Luna Daniel Martinez, and Laura Hidalgo headline writer director Kurt Hollander's hyper-stylized tale of an ageing pool hustler whose life seems to fall apart just as he hits his late career stride. El Vago (Martinez) has recently won an old-fashioned billiards hall in a heated contest with the joint's former owner El Mexicano (Jesus Ochoa). The first order of business: El Vago enlists the aid of ambitious assistant El Perro (Luna) in shooting an instructional billiards video. Trouble soon begins to brew, however, as El Perro is repeatedly distracted from his camera duties by El Mexicano's sexy daughter La Pujara (Hidalgo). Increasingly aggressive in his attempts to transform the venerable gaming establishment into a techno-throbbing youth hot spot, El Perro later crosses the line when he uses his lens to shoot a pornographic video with willing exhibitionist La Pujara. For his sophomore effort, director Gary Ross re-teams with Tobey Maguire and William H. Macy, stars of his directorial debut Pleasantville, for this depression-era sports drama about the legendary racehorse, Seabiscuit. Unlike 1949's fictionalized The Story of Seabiscuit starring Shirley Temple, this version attempts to present a factual account of the story, which centers around the three men who saw the famed horse to victory. Jeff Bridges stars as Charles Howard, an entrepreneur who owns the unlikely racehorse. Howard teams with partially blind boxer-turned-jockey Red Pollard (Maguire in his first performance since annihilating the 2002 box-office in Spider-Man) and horse trainer Tom Smith (Chris Cooper fresh off his best-supporting actor Oscar for Adaptation). Together, the three work to help the famed horse to several symbolic victories that helped to inspire a downtrodden 1930s America. A woman serving on the jury of an anti-Mafia trial must protect herself and her young son from a psychopathic gangster in this thriller. Demi Moore stars as Annie Laird, a single mother and artist who readily agrees to do her civic duty on the jury in the trial of a major organized crime figure. She quickly comes to regret this decision when a mysterious and eccentric Mafia associate known as The Teacher (Alec Baldwin) threatens to kidnap her son and harm her friends unless she promises to vote not guilty. Fearing for their lives, she plays along, but unfortunately the Teacher shows no sign of backing away from his plans, having become personally obsessed with Annie. Unwilling to trust the authorities, Annie instead develops a plan to save her child by taking on the Teacher and the mob.
