I didn't expect to like it, but I got sucked in to the history behind the story.

I saw this film many years ago. I liked it so well that I bought it. I grew up in a small California town that had many Mexican-American familes. We didn't have any specific areas that they lived in. We never considered we were any different than we were. I'm white and we all socialized together. It just never occured to us. It was the way I was raised. They first time I saw the difference was after I graduated, from High School and went away to college in a large city. I was so shocked. I still to this day don't treat any ethnic group differently. I live in a very diverse city now, and glad to say I treat everyone equally. I think the movie shows a proud family, they worked hard like any family to make a difference in their lives. You shouldn't be judged by your skin color or where you come from. In my opinion.
