I saw this years ago, when it ran as a mini series on TV, and remembered it as being very good. I was wrong. It is excellent! The acting superb, ditto for the writing and the production values as well. To use a cliche: they just don't make them like this anymore. And, more's the pity. Rent the whole series, and give up the trash TV for a while. You won;t be sorry.

This movie is one of the greatest movies ever made. This movie depicts life during the war years of ww2 and the causes and effects. I saw it in my freshman year of high school and it still has left an impact even now as a 41yr old.
