    I really did enjoy this unconventional love story between author Christopher Isherwood (I am a Camera, Cabaret, etc) and Don Bachardy (an accomplished artist); and what makes their story unique is not only with the fact that they had a very open gay relationship back in the 50s then spanning nearly 40 yrs - but maybe even more so because there was a 30 year age difference between them. Remarkable story that was a lasting one until Chris passed away. Don still lives in their home and still is painting. Eloquently brought to the screen this documentary contains old footage and home movies, interviews both old and new and reading's from Chris' diary. Special features offers even more with viewings of Don's beautiful paintings.

    This is a wonderful movie on several levels. It is a love story, a social commentary on the times, and an excellent biography of an artist. Truly an enjoyable film HCS
