24: Season 05 (2006)
Member Rating:
The threat to the United States in Season 5's white-knuckle day is Russian separatists armed with weaponized nerve gas and led by Vladimir Bierko (Julian Sands). Inciting their ire is an arms and mutual defense treaty that Russian president Yuri Suvarov (Nick Jameson) plans on signing with the U.S. and duplicitous president Charles Logan (Gregory Itzin). As Day 5 begins, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), who faked his own demise at the close of last season, is working at an oil refinery in California under the name Frank Flynn. He returns from his self-imposed exile to fight the good fight after an assassination rocks the nation and he finds himself framed for it and several other crimes. Jack is also reunited with former love interest Audrey Raines (Kim Raver), but tumult continues to follow them. Meanwhile at CTU, there's a new man brought in to oversee operations, Lynn McGill (Sean Astin), and once again, there's a mole in the ranks. A significant subplot centers on Christopher Henderson (Peter Weller), Jack's mentor-turned-nemesis who has information that can help Jack thwart the Russians. Another thread follows First Lady Martha Logan (Jean Smart), who grows increasingly disdainful of her husband's actions in office. ~ Fred Mitchell, Rovi

Everything youv'e heard about 24 is true. Once you start watching this show, you can't wait for the next. If you love action, drama, suspense, edge of your seat viewing, THIS IS IT !!!!! I started middle of 3rd season after co-worker was talkin it up and bet me I would get hooked. I lost the bet., went and bought first 4 seasons to get up to speed. BE WARNED........ If you buy the DVD's, you may not get much sleep for awhile, got my girlfriend to watch from the start, and we would continue episode after episode for hours. By far the best series or movie material around. One thing though, you have to watch it, sister tried to watch, but was distracted and did not pay much attention to, therefore she thought show wasn't really all that. GUARANTEED if you pay some attention from the start of where you watch, you WILL get hooked.

I am totally addicted to all things '24' and this season did not disappoint. I love the writing, the characters and the excellent actors that portray them. If you love action and never quite knowing what is going to happen next, this is the series for you. Jack Bauer for President!

I went back and watched all 5 seasons so that I would be up to speed come January. And after only the first epidsode, I was hooked! I've thoroughly been captivated by each episode of each season. The unique thing about this series show is that you can watch each season independently of the other and not feel like you are missing the beat. Although if you've watched all the seasons then you do have a slight advantage over the person that has no previous-character background knowledge. This show without a doubt has the best acting, best script, best story, best combination of drama*action*thriller*and a dash of humor, than any other show on television! If you like action and drama then you have to rent all of the "24" seasons.... you will be hooked on 24 too!!!
