I loved loved loved this movie as a little girl, and I'm so excited about renting it for my two boys (3 and 5)! I already know that they will really enjoy it since my grandmother had taped the original record lp of the movie and they love to listen to the taping. I hope more parents will put these "clean" and fun movies back on the map! One of the things I loved the most about Pete's Dragon, besides the fantastic musical scores, was that it was absolutely -hysterical-...from the misspelling of the town "Pasamaquadi" by the lead villian to Elliot (the dragon) sneezing poor Pete halfway across town, it is filled with silly hijinxs left and right:) Please rent this for your children...I can't think of a better movie for little 'uns!

This year marks the 30th anniversary of this outstanding, multiple Oscar-nominated Disney masterpiece. One of the most heart-warming musicals that was ever made, I loved this as a young boy, and now that I'm grown and have kids of my own, we rented it for all of us to watch together and it had us in stitches. Our adult hearts were moved by the messages of love and friendship, our kids laughed at the funny dragon Elliot and the crazy goofy Gogans, and my wife and I quietly sung the songs to ourselves that we've known in the back of our minds since 1977. "Candle On the Water" was our high school choir standard back in the 1980's, and so many of the other songs bring up so many emotions from the depths of a jaded adult heart...it's just irresistable. You and your family WILL love this movie. It is a beautiful work of art, and worth every moment.
