I am huge John Carpenter fan and while this film does a great job of covering his earlier work (Dark Star, Halloween, Assualt on Precinct 13, Escape from New York, The Thing) it complelely ignores his later work. There is nothing in regards to In The Mouth Of Madness, They Live, Christine, etc. It was entertaining for the hour that it lasted but it could have easily been two hours. As it is it feels incomplete and like they ended in in the middle.

This British-made documentary features interviews with Carpenter, Kurt Russell, Adrienne Barbeau, Debra Hill and Jamie Lee Curtis, as well as his peer and USC classmate, Nick Castle, among others. They provide candid, light-weight comments on Carpenter's films and his early years, growing up in Kentucky. At roughly 60 minutes, this documentary is a satisfying expose of a fascinating filmmaker, and is recommended viewing for anyone interested in his body of work. I recently met Mr Carpenter myself, and was impressed with his self-deprecating sense of humor and down-to-earth attitude to film and filmmaking.
