Some people just do not get this film at all I guess. This film certainly does not paint a pretty picture of terrorists in the SLA. It really shows what happens when a few young, idealistic middle class radicals get caught up in a fantasy of violence and terror. Clips of Hollywood movies such as Robin Hood, etc., smartly looped into the footage of this film show the very interesting story of how a small group of radicals with fantasies of fighting with the likes of Che Guevara against the "fascist insect which prays on the people" got caught up in a reign of terror which unfortunatley cost the lives of civilians and directly contradicted the dreams and hopes of the radical spirit of the sixties and seventies.

Good footage that I have never seen and done very well. In fact, the only thing that seemed out of place was the abrupt ending.

very informative documentary about the history of the sla, the abduction of patty hearst and how it all ended not only with her being found and later imprisoned but also her commutation and subsequent trials of surviving sla members. mainly told through interviews with two former sla members and a san francisco reporter who covered the incidents. especially gripping is the archival "live" footage of the famous shoot-out in la with the lapd that finished off most of the sla members. it fills in blanks for you if you are aware of the famous story, and makes you want to read about it if you are not. good rental, very informative.
