This is a very depressing program. smf we fast forwarded through a lot of footage about modern day famines earthquakes and other horrific desolation. It also discussed biblical disasters [as the name says], but being familiar with the bible it was old hat. What I/we were hoping for was more emphasis on archaeology throwing light on biblical events. It had that, but far too little and also approached the subject from a stance of almost absolute scepticism. Don't get me wrong, I think you can learn a lot from sceptics if you have a strong faith, but this was a little too much one sided. In short, we didn't like it.

I was a little skeptical when the History Channel put out a "documentary" on Biblical Disasters since the network usually deals with factual events as opposed to mythical ones. I was pleasantly surprised that this documentary was fair & equal to both sides (believers and non-believers) and the producers tried to explain some of the crazy fiction that is written in the Old Testament, why the early biblical writers were caught up in disaster scenarios, and how these events may have happened, if at all. Overall, it was quite entertaining.
