Marilyn Manson: Demystifying the Devil (2000)

Marilyn Manson: Demystifying the Devil (2000)
Member Rating:
Is Marilyn Manson a shock-rock visionary, a symbol of our troubled times, or just another rock star who came up with a good shtick? Marilyn Manson: Demystifying the Devil takes a close look at the controversial pop star's formative days, when the former Brian Warner was struggling to get the group then known as "Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids" off the ground in Florida. The film features interviews with several of Manson's former bandmates and associates (including his ex-girlfriend and the president of his first fan club), as well as rare performance footage and home movies of Manson and his pals exposing themselves, sniffing correction fluid, feeding a rabbit to a pet snake, and doing stuff with a toothbrush that you don't want to think about. This video features nudity and some sexual content and is not suitable for younger viewers. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

I agree with the previous review for the most part. What was intended to be a negative towards Mr. Manson... I found as an admirier of his *entertaining*. There are a few home movies... quite a few jaded ex-members AND other entertainers from the Florida music scene at the time... but all and all nothing I haven't heard before. If you like Manson rent it.

This was lame attempt at discrediting Marylin Manson taking cheap pot shots at excerpts of his life. Giving a fair variety of interview subjects, but a non-biased report in favor of opposition to the Goth Rock Super Star.

This movie was terrible. Not interesting at all. Boring! I thought ir would be interesting to see how someo one turned out so screwed up. It never even hit that at all. It pretty much was just a home made movie about what stupid thing Marilyn did on stage to get attention. This was the worse movie I even saw, and had no plot. It was painful to make myself watch. Nothing stirred my interest at all.
