Gotcha! (1985)
Member Rating:
"Gotcha!" is a puerile but popular campus game at UCLA in which students stalk one another armed with paint-spewing pellet guns. Veterinary student Anthony Edwards may not be any great shakes in the classroom, but he's a whiz at Gotcha. His skills come in handy when Edwards, on vacation in Paris, becomes acquainted with the mysterious Linda Fiorentino. She gets him mixed up in international espionage; fortunately, the well-armed spies aren't quite as adept at "Gotcha" as Edwards is. Most of the film was lensed in Paris and Berlin. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Amidst all the "classic" 80's movies like 16 Candles, The Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful and so on, slid this under-the-radar gem. Gotcha! is a simple spy thriller that is great, campy fun! There are enough twists and turns to keep things light and fun, and the game of Assassin itself was extremely popular on college campuses during this period. It was even a cover story in Rolling Stone. My, how times have changed. Nonetheless, it's still great fun and fast paced with a few good laughs throughout to keep it from becoming a below average spy flick. Dig the 80's hair!!

This is the movie that brought the whole paintball phenom and Anthony Edwards to the masses. Post Revenge of the Nerds and pre-Top Gun, Edwards is in top form as a virginal veteranrian college student who just can't seem to get a date until he takes a summer trip to Europe and meets a woman who makes a man out of him. This movie is just a lot of fun to watch.

A great movie in many ways. Pretty funny at some parts and has some good old fashioned "whats going on here" mystery to solve as the movie rolls on. I love the very ending, she deserves it!
