This isn't Sammo Hung's best film, but it's still entertaining. The action sequences are amusing, but highly stylized and wildly improbable, with much leaping about using wires and trampolines. Andy Lau is always a good leading man. He's wry and just campy enough. Unfortunately, the sound editing for the film is distracting. For example, horses' hooves don't clop in time with the horses. Also, the plot jerks a bit, not transitioning well from one scene to the next.

it wasn't great, but was enjoyable. the fight scenes were good, mostly swordplay with wires and trampolines. the sets and costumes were pretty good. overall the movie was filmed and acted well but the story was so so.
