Ben Lewis and Anna O'Byrne star in a sequel that finds The Phantom fleeing from Paris to Coney Island, where his falls in with the local side show performers before attempting to entice Christine and her family across the Atlantic. An additional interview with Weber allows viewers a glimpse behind-the-scenes of this opulent production. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I love the Phantom of the Opera and have had the pleasure to see this onstage. I own the dvd and soundtrack. I am a big fan. However I do not like this movie. The cast was great but I felt this movie soured the first one. I would never own or recommend this movie to anyone. I thought it horribly portrayed most of the characters you came to love in the Phantom.

This musical is so awful, no one should bother with it. Ridiculous book, truly terrible songs and melodramatic acting. Skip this!

every "master" can have a bad piece of art. this is Weber's turn... sorry to say it is not worth watching... especially if you loved every other of his works.

very disappointed at the story line, because this second movie takes away all the romance and compassion of the first movie and leads us to believe that these three people are all tainted and not just the phantom, disappointed

Please save your money! This piece of horse manure (save for the ending and the title song) - needs to be shoveled off into obscurity! A sequel is what it is called - I call it, someone just hoping to make more money off of a good thing!

I saw this on the big screen last night, and evem though it did not end the way I had hoped, and I felt like a few things did not match up with "Phantom of the Opera," Andrew Lloyd Webber has another musical masterpiece. It is amazing and a feast for the eyes and ears. The cast, music, costumes, and sets are in a word.... SUPERB! IMO if you're a fan of musicals, skip renting it, and just buy it. :)

I'm not just a fan of 'Phantom'...I worship at its altar. Which makes me either The Best or The Worst person to discuss this misbegotten 'sequel.' The new story, concocted by Lord Andrew himself, is LUDICROUS and, to put it simply, cannot share the same plane of existence with 'Phantom,' since they make lies of one another. That being said...(can you feel my pain here?)...THIS WAS STUNNING!! The Aussie stage production that was filmed herein was beyond opulent; His Lordship's music is emotional, evocative and unforgettable (as always); Anna O'Byrne is SUPERB as Christine (Ben Lewis a bit less so as The Phantom). As I'm awfully good at playing mental tricks on myself, and was able to pretty well focus on ONLY what was on the screen in front of me (it took about 20 minutes to accomplish), it swept me away utterly, and I wept like an infant. I will now treasure this as I've treasured "Phantom'...but never ever EVER back-to-back. I think I'd explode.
