Three-time Emmy Award-winning comic Chris Rock returns to HBO with his first stand-up comedy special in nearly five years, offering his unique, uncensored take on a variety of topics ranging from politics to celebrities, and never holding back while exposing the many absurdities of modern living. Compiled from footage captured during performances at South Africa's Carnival City Casino, New York's Apollo Theater, and Carling Apollo Hammersmith in London, this ninety-minute special marks Rock's eagerly-anticipated return to the stage after taking a break to narrate the hit television series Everybody Hates Chris and appearing in such films as The Longest Yard and I Think I Love My Wife. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Chris Rock has done better, much better--this stand-up is only okay. Be prepared, he gets VERY political (pro-Obama and anti-McCain) and VERY vulgar, and talks about black/white people A LOT. That's standard fare for comedians today, but his jokes were so not original, that I found myself wondering if I had seen this already. I don't think I laughed much at all in the beginning, but the later half got better, thankfully. On a side note, the editing drove me nuts--it switches between the three venues throughout the show, and the sound changes very noticeably.
Although Chris Rock may have some funny ideas, they are ruined by his presentation. So much cursing and racial slurs that it was hard to watch. Turned off after about five minutes. Too bad.
chris rock is a racist a.. hole and i will never support him again
black power black power
only watch if you voted for obama, this is a campaign for him
Unfortunately Chris Rock has travelled down that ugly road of ultra liberal hate "comedy". This "movie" was nothing more than an anti-republican hate rant. I have lost all respect for Chris Rock.
