Consumed by rage after watching his family get viciously slaughtered by a demonic beast, an angry plumber receives a chance to redeem himself after inadvertently unleashing an ancient evil. As a young boy, Jack Brooks' entire life was forever changed during a fateful camping trip. Having survived the slaughter by simply turning heel and running as fast as possible, Jack simply cannot forgive himself for allowing his fear to take over. These days, Jack (Trevor Matthews) is a local plumber with some serious rage issues. One day, while attempting to repair some pipes for Professor Crowley (Robert Englund), the hotheaded handyman awakens an evil the likes of which this world has never seen. Later, Professor Crowley is drawn to this evil energy, and compelled to consume a black heart that possesses his soul, and transforms his body. Now the evil has spiraled out of control, leaving one hapless, haunted plumber to finally harness his all-consuming anger for the powers of good, and face the forces of darkness that once robbed him of his entire family. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This was a good, fun movie. Although it took a while to get going, there were enough funny parts and blood to keep you interested. Once the Monster shows up, it moves along pretty well. Robert Englund is great and "Jack Brooks" does a great job too. It was great to see some real special effects and not CGI crap. Overall, I thought it was enjoyable and would recommend it.

This was a B movie, but I think the makers knew what they were doing. I thought it was a lot of fun. Reminds me a little of "Planet Terror."

The dissappoinment was the action happened in the final 1/2 hr of the movie. It definitely had good potential if they didn't wait so long to get things exciting.

Not truly a bad flick but it takes about an hour of watching this losers life before he slays "the monster". Not the usual but kind of boring.

Great movie. Great plot. Great relatable character. Great monsters. It has no CGI and it is better for it.

This review is for the Bluray version. The movie itseld was pretty good, mixing horror with comedy. The hooror at times was grusome, and you may not want to show it to young childre. However the comedy was good, without being corny, like most other mixes of horror and comedy. The highdef picture was good. But here's why I gave it a low score: There's NO menu on the disc. There's no extras. There's NO highdef sound, olny Dolby Digital. And worst of all, there's NO subtitles! Not even English. We are a biligual family, and my significant other doesn't know alot of English, and there was no Spanish. Althoughmy SO can understand English subtitles, there wasn't even English. What about the hard of hearing? With the capabilities of Bluray (and DVD too), there's no excuse for a disc with no subtitles. Maybe we should boycott those studios that refuse to put on subtitles!

Would title this one good times and laughs with Jack. Especially loved the scenes in the psychiatrist office as that was almost hillarious. This is not a scary horror movie but instead a well done spoof on the scary horror movie and should be enjoyed by all.

As the movie started it had a promising feel - and felt like it was going to turn out like a Bruce Campbell movie, like Army of Darkness. Even some of the dialogue between Jack and his counsellor was funny. Robert Englund does a decent job but everyone elses performance seems forced. Where the movie fails is material and pacing - It progresses very slowly and 60mts of it feels like filler to get to the end. It had potential but in the end you feel let down for having your time wasted.

This would be a nice Horror Comedy with a good Editor. Just fast forward through all the dreck involving his doctor and you'll enjoy it.
