This disk was a journey through Greece, the Greek Isles, Istanbul, western Turkey, central Turkey, eastern Turkey, Israel, and Egypt. In Greece there is backgammon playing, yogurt with honey, delicious tzatziki, golden art, and the progression of very stiff idealized statuary to more lifelike, idealized statuary. In Istanbul Byzantine architecture, chai, and the Bosphorus set the stage for shopping for bargains. In west Turkey Turkish baths, ancient mineral springs, Ionic columns, and a yogurt-water-salt drink are introduced. In central Turkey Rick takes a camel ride, explores the cave villages, and tries fresh bread, feta, honey, tomatoes, olives, and chai. In Israel visit the Dome of the Rock, take the path that Jesus walked, and try fallafel with tahini. In Egypt see the pyramids of Giza sometime between October and April and include a visit to chaotic Cairo and Luxor. Oh, don't forget the National Museum to see King Tut and other funerary art.
