This sequel to the 2001 hit video-game adaptation Lara Croft: Tomb Raider finds Jan de Bont stepping in for director Simon West, helming his first feature since 1999's The Haunting. From a script by first-time scribe Dean Georgaris, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life finds Angelina Jolie once again portraying the titular curvaceous adventurer. But where the first film saw Croft in a race against the Illuminati to acquire an elusive relic that offers control over life and death, this entry in the series follows the heroine as she ventures to an underwater temple in search of the mythological Pandora's Box. Unfortunately, once she secures the legendary artifact, it is promptly stolen by the villainous leader of a Chinese crime syndicate. It is then up to Lara to get the box back before an evil mastermind gets hold of it and uses it to construct a weapon of catastrophic capabilities. Gerard Butler, Djimon Hounsou, and Noah Taylor head up the supporting cast. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi

Much better than the first one, but that's not saying too much. At least this one had a somewhat sensible plot (for a Tomb Raider movie). The first one was just awful. This one is okay.

Good movie. Lots of action. The slo mo on Angelina was kind of creepy though.

This was a very good movie. Packed with action, and a good storyline. I would like to see a third movie done if possible. Tomb Raider is a well developed series.

A little bit better than the first one. The Shark was DUM and not none very well at all..... Angelina Jolie rides the shark like a dolphin to the surface, but the special effects of the tree creatures were awesome, this happens where they go to get the pandora's box near the end of movie.

I love Tomb Raider but this was only moderate. Again, the budget helped. Great scenery and gadgets. Should have fired the guy and got a better actor. Little more posing than the last one. Could have done without that. She's cool because she doesn't need to pose. Still love it but mostly cause I love a movie where they feel it is probable that people will survive after flying out a window of a skyscraper.

I like seeing the females kicking some butt now and then :0) My 7yr old daughter likes Lara Croft, and liked the movie. ***you need to judge if it's ok for your child though***

If you have played the game and are a fan, then it might please you. The plot was not that good and the fight scenes could've been better. I only rented it because I played the games and thought they were pretty cool. Either way it's an alright movie, but not a keeper.

Again, this was entertaining, but I didn't feel it held a candle to the original, the story line just wasn't as good, and Angelina just wasn't as "hot". Hell of a cool ride off the skyscraper though!

And I think Angelina's outfit is a body cast in this roll. The other characters are great, especially the Terry character - wow! But Lara is in a body cast - Angelina's range is nil in this role - not even as much as Roger Moore as Bond (and that was terrible!) I know she has much more range and depth - I love her in so many roles (Girl Interrupted, Beyong Borders, etc)- but opposite such a sexy man (Gerard Butler)it sure would've been nice to see at least some hint of "anything" beside distain on her face throughout the film.

Compared with first, this one... well... I couldn't even finish it. After first 30-40 minutes I had to fastforward watch it. Some of the scenes were just over the top, and I know it is sci-fi/game movie; I can take a lot of unrealism, as long as the movie is entertaining. The character's attitude seemed different, more cocky, less enjoyable for me. First movie however, great; second, just like most sequels.. terrible in my opinion.
