Season one of the "cartoon commercial" The Transformers begins with the three-part "More Than Meets the Eye," which explains how the two warring Transformers armies from the planet Cybertron, Optimus Prime's good-guy Autobots and Megatron's bad-guy Decepticons, were placed in suspended animation when they attempted to expand their battle to prehistoric Earth. "Thawing out" in 2005 A.D., the combatants resume their war as if nothing had happened, with the Autobots gaining a bit of an advantage by winning two human earthlings, Spike and Sparkplug, over to their side. A later episode, "Roll for It," introduces another major human ally of the Autobots, computer whiz Chip Chase. Subsequent season-one highlights include the three-part story, "The Ultimate Doom," wherein Megatron enlists the aid of a mad (Do you hear? Mad!) human scientist in attempting to bring Cybertron into Earth's orbit. And "A Plague of Insecticons" introduces a brand-new threat to Autobots and Decepticons alike -- not to mention a fresh new line of Hasbro-licensed Transformer toys! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Although it was a Tuesday evening when I put in the dvd for my son to watch, when the entry music started I was suddenly 8 years old again sitting on the livingroom floor with my little brother on a Saturday morning. One of us a "Decepticon" and the other an "Autobot" ready to battle each other for control of the planet. So many great memories of my childhood were rekindled and I loved every minute of it.

Worth watching again to bring back the memories. Sorry to say as a 40-year old it was much better when I was a kid (ROBOTECH is much better) but heh it was fun being kid pretending to 'Roll Out' with Optimus and the boys.

Great job on the restoration. Watching It brings back wonderful memories of watching the cartoons with my cousins.

Very watchable for an adult enjoying with my kids. Of course, nothing you watched as a kid has the same impact as when you're watching as an adult, but TF is still more entertaining than 99% of new programming that just tries to "tween-fry" our kids.

If you're reading this, it's probably because you're interested in the original series or you want a throwback to your childhood. This'll do it. Good old stories of heroism, friendship, and loyalty.
