Three salesmen working for a firm that makes industrial lubricants are waiting in the company's "hospitality suite" at a manufacturers' convention for a "big kahuna" named Dick Fuller to show up, in hopes they can persuade him to place an order that could salvage the company's flagging sales. Phil (Danny DeVito) is in his mid-50s; he's devoted his life to his job but emotionally has little to show for it. He's learned to live with the loneliness of a salesman's life, but is smarting over the recent collapse of his marriage and is trying to quit drinking. Bob (Peter Facinelli) is a quiet but observant newcomer in his 20s, recently married and adjusting to his first business trip. And Larry (Kevin Spacey) is a bundle of energy who likes to drink, smoke, and start arguments; he's openly confrontational with Phil and Bob and quick to pick up on their foibles and failings. Phil and Larry become more impatient and bitter as the evening wears on, especially when they learn that "the big kahuna" already dropped by the suite; wearing someone else's name tag, he had a few drinks, talked with Bob about the recent death of his dog and Christianity, and never mentioned placing an order. Screenwriter Roger Rueff based the script on his play Hospitality Suite; Kevin Spacey was a co-producer as well as starring as Larry. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Iam a huge movie buff and I found this movie to be extremely interesting! It is about sales and life in general. This movie made me think alot about life. When you see this cmovie make sure to listen to the song (Always wear sunscreen) at the closing cresits! It's probally one of the most touching, real songs that I have ever heard. All is all this movie left me quite confused, however Spacey was amazing and it was enjoyable.

Insightful not only into the marketing field but, more importantly, for its honest portrayal of the Human Animal. All three actors gave extraordinary depth to their characters; one who is feeling his mortality, another who is crude but honest, and the wide-eyed idealist who has much to learn. A must see for ALL; pay attention to the old-fashioned homilies during the credits at the end; a lot of truth to be found there, also.

I love Spacey...but this movie did not hold my attention. Maybe you have to be a businessman to appreciate it, but I found it boring. It did have certain interesting aspects, but not enough.

LOVED,LOVED, LOVED this movie....a few very minor flaws. Towards the end, the pacing slows a little, but the dialogue may be the most funny I've ever seen in ANY movie. If you have ever done sales, collections, any type of working with the public, you will identify with the desperation in Kevin Spacey's character. And those of us who are born-again, evangelical Christians (as I am) will still see the humor in the Bagincelli character's performance and choices.

Like Glengarry Glen Ross this film is based off a play, so there aren't a lot of sets. The dialogue is witty and right on the mark in most instances. Spacey was perfect for this part. He is a natural salesman, nailing the attitude required to make the dialogue believable. Not for everybody, but not just a "sales flick" either, there is too much depth in the movie to label it that way.

I'm in sales so perhaps I'm a sucker for these kinds of flicks. I love Glennarry Glen Ross and Boiler Room. If you're in to action films, this is not for you but if you like good dialog and some very profound lines about life, you'll dig this flick. Kevin Spacey and Danny DeVito are right on in their respecive rolls. I highly recommed this film.

Unless you're really into the life of a salesman this is super slow. I usually like Spacey, but not in this role. Everything takes place in the hospitality suite of a hotel; might have worked better as a play. Tried it for about an hour, couldn't finish it and gave up.
