In this low-budget sci-fi adventure, a nerdy college student is shocked to discover that he has been chosen to save the Earth from intergalactic invaders. Joe E. Talbott learns of his mission from the mysterious beauty who suddenly appears in his dorm late one night. Upon hearing her story, he agrees to help. I knew this was a low budget movie so keeping my expectations in line with that made it more enjoyable. The movie's premise is an interesting concept which is what makes it worth watching. The acting is pretty descent and the visuals are good. However, the fight choreography is painfully slow and scripted and (within the premise of the movie) there are a few logical leaps that don't work.

Felt like a low budget TV movie from the early nineties. Watch the Librarian movies instead.

Unfortunately, there really isn't any science in this fiction. The premis is okay, and the story could really be told well if there had been budget and stronger writing. As it is, this is a fantasy tale of a young man coming of age. Not really much more to it than that, and there are much better tellings of this sort of tale available.
