Side step this meager effort at entertainment. A wonderful idea that never lives up to it's potential. When you combine the low budget (not that big of a deal), with sub-par acting (Perry Mucci's performance made me want to strangle puppies and kittens), and further combine those two elements with a horendous effort by the musical editor (the way the music is incorpoated into the movie reminded me of those old sci-fi offerings from the 1930's-40's) as a whole its a mess. It was too serious to be considered campy. I wanted to like this film based on the synopsis and the trailer, it just didn't work. "Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys" is definitely a better way to spend your evening.

After watching the movie I don't think it belongs in the Comedy catagory because it wasn't a comedy. Reading the movie synopis one would come up with an A Typical storyline before watching the movie. The storyline is what makes this movie. David Ingram acting was top knotch as well as Danial Baldwins small part but a good part. The geeky comic book nerd part was done well and fit the movie. The movie is great to watch but half way through I was thinking this is kind of cheesy then that was when it started to get good as things developed and the storyline started to diverge from the espected outcome. One must watch this movie to the end to really appreciate its story and meaning. My only teaser is an already used statement "With great power comes great responsibility." The film technical quality kind of takes away from the movie which is why I lowered my rating but the storyline and acting is good enough and made for an enjoyable movie.

This was a cleaver well written comedy. Not sure why the hostility from some. Would Blockbuster really buy a movie that looked like it was made by high school students? Gimme a break.
