A group of teens discover that the next generation of survival horror games are more realistic than they thought when they begin dying in the same manner as their pixilated counterparts in director William Brent Bell's bloody tale of video games gone bad. In the days following the mysterious death of an old friend, a young group of gaming enthusiasts comes into possession of a chillingly realistic game based on the exploits of a 17th century noblewoman who earned the name "The Blood Countess" for her murderous exploits. Their curiosity piqued by the fact that they were obviously not supposed to come into possession of the grisly game, the teens soon give in to temptation and begin doing battle for high score. When the chilling events of the game begin to bleed over into the real world and the real-life deaths of the players begin to mirror the deaths of their in-game characters, the race is on to defeat the murderous Blood Countess and ensure that other curious gamers don't fall into the same deadly trap that they did. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The movie was really great, and I thoroughly enjoyed the back and forth between the two worlds...brilliantly created and brought to life. My only complaint is the ending, I mean, you're almost waiting for that final "jump" and it never comes...really anti-climatic. Don't get me wrong you get quite a few jumps throughout the whole movie - just wish they'd re-write and re-release the DVD with a different ending than the video store all I'll say without giving anything away)...that part seemed like it was just an afterthought that didn't really grip me like the rest of the movie.

I'm not sure what everyone else was watching, but this was not worth renting. The acting was lame, the story line has been done (think Brain Scan and Eddie Furlong). I wasn't expecting much, but this sunk lower than even my lowest expectations.

The plot was a good start; but the acting was horrible. They didn't seem as though they really got into their parts all that much. They held back and the lines that were chosen for them didn't help. You could tell that these actors were at the beginning of their careers and need alot more experience. Frankie was ok with his role, but the others really could have done much better. Wait until this one comes out on DVD.
