Great example of French Cinema. The whole dramatic perspective as well as the not so happy ending. It was nonetheless depicting a very dark and dangerous undertaking in French history. I found the movie to be a great watch and definitely recommend it to others... Cheers

During WW II, the French citizens loyal to the Allies had to avoid raising the suspicions of the occupying Nazis and France's own Vichy collaborators. They operated at great risk to themselves in meting out street justice to collaborators and in keeping their network active, but secret. Trust was required, but guarded. Life and death decisions had to be made with limited knowledge. Arrest and capture often meant execution within minutes or days. For all of this, there were no medals, rewards, or fame awaiting them at the end of the war.
