Even if you love international films and don't mind reading subtitles, it will still take a little patience to get into "Tulpan." About 20 minutes along, the story caught hold of me. Asa is such a likeable guy and he works so hard to woo the elusive Tulpan. All and all, a good film with a surprising ending.

This was a really unexpectedly excellent movie. I think it captures the real daily life of a part of the world that is virtually unknown to most people.

Classic tale of desire to remain on land, with old traditional ways, despite pressure to join new materialistic values.
