This was OK - two short stories having nothing to do with one another. The first one was a classic tale of "let's kill my husband so we can be rich and stop hiding our affair". Kind of a zombie-ish story. The second involves an artist that has gone a little crazy - we all know Harvey Keitel can play that role well. This was kind of like another episode of Tales from the Crypt. Nothing spectacular, but somewhat entertaining.

The duel Poe stories were just okay; the first, Romero's "Valdemar", takes it's time getting started but has a pretty good creepy ending. "The Black Cat" was better, truly gruesome as Argento does so well. But what was worth the rent was in the extras; interviews with SFX master Tom Savini (including a brief tour of his home back when he was doing Two Evil Eyes). Interesting seeing him talk about what he loves doing, with short clips of how he came up with some of the effects and make up.

Romero and Argento are usually strong directors, but in this case they dropped the ball. They wasted their time....dont let them waste yours.
