I liked some of Jackie Chan's other movies like Rush Hour with Chris Tucker. Those at least had some decent acting & humor. Here Jackie is looking old and this movie looked very low budget. Since it's a Hong Kong movie, everyone who's not Chinese is reduced to a bumbling idiot. Made me laugh once perhaps, but pretty much a let down. I bet this is one of his worst movies so if you like Jackie and want some fast action kung fu, perhaps take a chance on one of his other movies - can't be much worse than this.

...you understand some chinese philosophies and some of their culture. I thought it was a very good movie. Children in the US identify with it because it has a child in the movie and this child has "magical" powers. It may be a good movie to start teaching children about other views on religion and spirituality. My nephews tell me there is even a cartoon made of this movie. Kids will like it.

There is no chemistry between Jackie Chan and Claire Forlani. It should be left alone as coworkers. And Lee Evans was trying too hard to be funny. The dialogues were poorly written. However, just like other Jackie Chan's movies, the actions always have something new and funny to laugh at.
