Synopsis of Biography: Leif Ericsson - Voyages of a Viking

This program chronicles the adventures of the Viking explorer Lief Ericsson. Nordic tradition has long maintained that Ericsson visited the New World centuries before Christopher Columbus. Today, the mythic tales about the Vikings are being substantiated by modern scientists. Recently, archeologist Anne Ingatad discovered the site of Vinland, long said to be where Ericsson and his men built their outpost in North America. The ruins of Vinland are in present day Newfoundland, and tell much about their builders.
