Zvee Scooler

Ukrainian émigré Zvee Scooler made his stage debut in 1912, working New York's Yiddish theater circuit. He announced for several ethnic radio stations, and appeared in plays written in a multitude of languages. In films from the 1960s onward, Scooler appeared in such Manhattan-based productions as The Pawnbroker (1965) and The Detective (1968). He also played the Rabbi in the screen adaptation of Fiddler on the Roof (1971). Zvee Scooler's last film appearance was a small part in 1981's The Chosen. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
