Six men unwittingly walk the fine line that separates comrades from enemies in this historical drama. In 1864, as the Civil War continues to ravage the American South, a three-day skirmish known as the Battle of the Wilderness rages in Virginia. After a long day of fighting, three weary Confederate soldiers -- Harrison Bolding (Brian J. Merrick), James Hogg (Terry Jernigan), and After Stand Kennerly (Aaron Jackson) -- become separated from their company and find themselves lost in the woods after nightfall. As they set up camp for the night, they're joined by three other fighting men, John Sunderlin (DJ Perry), Augustus Elliot (Curtis Hall), and Pietro Brolo (Mark Lacy), who have also lost their way, and the six soldiers spend the night sharing their meager rations and telling stories. When they awake the next morning, the men make a startling discovery -- in the darkness, the Confederates were unable to tell that their guests were Union soldiers, causing all six men to look upon their actions with suspicion and fear. Wicked Spring was the first narrative feature for director Kevin R. Hershberger. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
