Always My Darling is the sixth feature-length entry in the Japanese anime series Urusei Yatsura. As before, Lum, the bikini-clad extraterrestrial "Princess of the Oni" is the house guest of earthbound teenager Ataru Morobishi. Lum's great rival, space-princess Lupica, kidnaps Ataru. Lupica wants to use the boy as leverage to attain a powerful love potion. Fans of the series weren't crazy about the radical new character designs utilized in Always My Darling, but few complained about the film's action content. Urusei Yatsura was originally created for the comic pages by Rumiko Takahashi; it went on to yield an animated TV series, several televised specials, and, as mentioned, six theatrical features. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
