Turbonegro: Reserection
Grafting gleefully perverse psychosexual humor with a bruising yet intricate blend of punk and hard rock, Turbonegro had earned a large and passionate following in Europe as well as their native Norway in 1998, and seemed poised to do the same in the United States when the band abruptly fell apart after the departure of lead singer Hank Von Helvete, who was suffering from a nervous breakdown as well as heroin addiction. In 2002, the members of Turbonegro persuaded a healthy Von Helvete to give the band a second chance, and the group set out on a enthusiastically received reunion tour, which led to a new album from the group, Scandinavian Leather. Turbonegro: The ResErection is a documentary which follows the band as they pick up the pieces and resume the madness of denim-and-leather-clad life on the road with a schedule of sold-out festival appearances, including plenty of footage of the band on-stage. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
