Some of the brightest stars in country music were guests on Town Hall Party, a weekly television series broadcast live every Saturday night by KTTV-TV in Los Angeles from 1952 to 1961, and this home-video release from Bear Family Records features kinescope highlights from two episodes. Hank Snow sings "I'm Movin' On," "I Don't Hurt Anymore," and other hits on the October 11, 1958, show, with the Collins Kids, Skeets McDonald, Johnny Bond, and Joe Maphis also on the bill. The August 22, 1959, program stars Lefty Frizzell, who sings "Cigarettes and Coffee Blues" and "Ballad of the Blue and Grey," with Tex Ritter, Charlie Williams, Martha Carson, and another high-spirited performance from the Collins Kids sharing the stage with Lefty. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
