As part of the Standard Deviants teaching video series, this video is designed to help the viewer understand three of William Shakespeare's tragic plays. Using lessons that were written by university professors, the viewer is given a Cliff's Notes summary of the language, characters and scenery of the following plays: Othello, Macbeth and King Lear. The lessons also feature the effect that Shakespeare's plays had on Elizabethean theatre and the people of the time. The information is a condensed version of what a college student taking a course on the tragic plays of Shakespeare would encounter during the first half of the semester.
