The Standard Deviants: Astronomy, Part 1
Standard Deviantsis a line of educational videos that teaches several basic and quick lessons on college level subjects. This particular edition focuses on the study of astronomy. Using computer animation, skits, mnemonic devices, and lessons co-written by university professors, the lesson introduces basic astronomy concepts: the Law of Gravity, the Doppler Effect and several theorems and astronomical activities. The lessons are presented by an actor resembling the famed astronomer Johannes Kepler. Though a bit corny and at times a delivered a bit too quickly, the lessons contain the information taught to a first year college student in an introductory class. Those who wish can continue their investigations of the stars with the second part of the series Standard Deviants: Astronomy Part 2. ~ Ed Atkinson, All Movie Guide
