Blues guitarist Kelly Joe Phelps is considered one of the leading practitioners of slide guitar. His electrifying live performances of straight-ahead blues played on slide guitar have won him many admirers. His special sound can be heard on his CDs, &"Lead Me On," "Roll Away the Stone," and "Shine Eyed Misted Zen." Phelps shares his knowledge of the slide blues idiom in this program, in which he teaches the student techniques for playing the slide guitar. Also included are tips on arrangements, and freeing the mind and spirit for improvisation.
