The Seeker
A struggling forty-five year old screenwriter and former teacher who also happens to be a quadriplegic sets out on a cross country road trip to find out if will ever walk again in an inspirational documentary from director Jess Thomas. Evan Somers is having a midlife crisis, but it isn't the kind of midlife crisis that most men his age will face. Curious as to just how close the medical community is to curing the many folks like him who suffer from spinal cord injuries, Somers hops on his modified Honda motorcycle with a sidecar that attaches to his wheelchair and hits the open road. Though he never wallows in self-pity, Somers does want to know if he should hold out hope of one day standing on his own two feet again. Over the course of his journey Somers will not only discover the realities of modern scientific progress, but the breathtaking beauty of the open road as well. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
