The Residents: Icky Flix
Charting a singular musical and creative path, the Residents have, for nearly three decades, been one of the most original and uncompromising bands in American underground music, and just as their music observed few precedents, they were experimenting with music video and interactive digital technology long before either was commonplace in pop music. The Residents: Icky Flix is a special DVD release that collects over 100 minutes worth of sound and images from the Residents on one disc, including a restored and re-edited version of their early film "Vileness Fats"; cult classic videos for the songs "Hello Skinny," "This Is a Man's Man's Man's World," and "Constantinople"; "One Minute Movies," a collection of videos for songs from the album The Residents' Commercial Album; "condensed" versions of the CD-ROM releases Bad Day on the Midway and The Gingerbread Man; three brand-new videos; and much more. In addition, the DVD also allows users to choose between the original versions of the music used to accompany the films, and brand-new (and often radically rearranged) versions recorded by the group specifically for this DVD. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
