The Ladies' Phone Club
Kei Mizutani stars in this comic take on a growth niche market in Japan's notorious sex industry -- phone clubs where young women make dates with sweaty middle-aged men. The film centers on Lulu (Minako Ogawa) -- the most popular girl in the biz who is about to get her 1,000th customer. Lulu is, however, thrown for a loop when this well-numbered patron happens to be not only a woman, but married to the guy who runs the club. Meanwhile, the owner is desperately trying to keep his business afloat ever since his brother, a part owner of the club, began posing as a superhero named Mouseman. Wacky japing and gratuitous coupling ensue. ~ Jonathan Crow, All Movie Guide
