The Kingdom Heirs: Going on with the Song - Live

As the brainchild of Tennessee brothers Steve and Kreis French, the CCM/southern gospel band The Kingdom Heirs attained their broadest following in the nineties, with a series of discs on the Sonlite label. Many fans many not realize, however, that their roots can be traced back to the early eighties, when the French brothers first assembled the band. Steve sang baritone vocals, Kreis performed on bass guitar, and a trio of additional singers joined the men - bassist Eric Bennett, tenor David Sutton, and lead Arthur Rice. Church dates and regional gigs followed, as well as a regular spot at Dolly Parton's theme park, Dollywood - while the band's following in the southern gospel belt spread rapidly; the albums primarily emerged from 1995 on. The banned culled its concert film Kingdom Heirs: Going on With the Song - Live from their 2003 LP of the same title; here, the Heirs perform the ten songs on the audio recording before a live audience. Numbers include: "Going on with the Song," "Mighty Deep Well," "Plain Ol' Everyday People," and "Enjoy the Lord." ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
