The Great Inca Rebellion
Traditional history tells us that the Inca warriors of South America - regarded for centuries as one of the most powerful ethnic groups in all of civilization - ironically met a bloody, brutal and pathetic end when annihilated by a puny band of Spanish conquistadors. But new historical data suggests otherwise. According to a recent hypothesis, the conquistadors in fact spent years attempting, in vain, to bring Inca civilization tumbling to the ground - and the Incas represented valiant, almost irrepressible foes. This version suggests that the Spanish ultimately succeeded - but only through a backbreaking effort, the loss of untold wealth and scores of casualties. The documentary National Geographic: The Great Inca Rebellion explores the stunning newfound evidence that corroborates this hypothesis. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
