Steve Irwin: He Changed Our World
On September 4, 2006, while shooting a documentary off the Great Barrier Reef, famed Australian "crocodile hunter" Steve Irwin met a particularly gruesome and unpleasant end, stung directly through the heart by a venomous stingray. He died instantly. Now, the eighty-six minute home video release Steve Irwin: He Changed Our World pays homage to the life and legacy of the man who redefined contemporary naturalism and brought into the public mindset aspects of the biosphere that viewers otherwise might never have seen. Filmed on September 20, 2006, at the "Crocoseum" established by Irwin at the Australia Zoo, the program includes the complete memorial service for Irwin, attended by five thousand fans including Aussie prime minister John Howard. As an added bonus, the program also features interviews with Irwin's family and Irwin. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
