Sonic X [Anime Series]
Originally telecast in Japan, this Saturday-morning FOX network cartoon weekly was an offshoot of the old Sonic the Hedgehog TV series and video games. Most of the familiar characters -- Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, Rouge, etc. -- were on hand, but their surroundings were markedly different from the computer-game-like environs of the property's earlier incarnations. Accidentally transported by Chaos Control to the "real" world of human beings, Sonic and company had to negotiate through this (to them) strange universe to prevent the evil Dr. Eggman from collecting the powerful Chaos Emeralds. Helping our heroes was their new human friend Christopher. Created by Yuji Uekawa, Sonic X made its American TV debut August 23, 2003. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
