Short 6: Insanity
This DVD-format magazine features ten short films, many award-winners, from a variety of up-and-coming directors. The Bad Plant concerns a vegetable with an attitude who strikes out against animals, people, and even the Earth. Blue City is a brief drama about a run-in between two burglars and a man who wants to kill himself. Billy's Balloon is an animated parody about a balloon with a desire to hurt his owner. El Banquete is a surreal non-narrative short. Bovine Vendetta tells the strange tale of a cow possessed by the spirit of Charles Manson. Midnight Dance is a bit of animated spookiness in which a gaggle of skeletons comes to life in a graveyard. Franky Goes to Hollywood: A Dogumentary tells the true story of a dog who was cast in the movie Armageddon, and the dog's adventures in the screen trade, both on and off the set. Black Coffee is a comic vignette in which a man runs off with a beautiful woman he meets by chance. 60 Channels offers a brief look at an electronic dance music ensemble based in Los Angeles. And Me & Will features two filmmakers talking about the difficulties they had in finishing their latest project, Insanity. In addition to the short films, Short 6: Insanity also features a number of promotional shorts and additional brief features. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
