Princess Ida
The Ambrosian Opera Chorus and the London Symphony Orchestra perform this 1982 version of Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera Princess Ida. The titular princess (Nan Christie) decides to start up a women's university rather than marry her fiancé, Prince Hilarion (Laurence Dale). He and his friends, Cyril (Bernard Dickerson) and Florian (Richard Jackson), dress up as women in order to attend the school. Also starring Frank Gorshin as King Gama and Neil Howlett as King Hidlebrand.
