In the vein of Robert Townsend's Hollywood Shuffle (1987) and Frank Oz's Bowfinger, the Polish director Mariusz Pujszo's take-no-prisoners comedy Polish Kitsch Project...Counter Attack (a sequel to the 2003 Polish Kitsch Project) sends up low-budget film production with impassioned glee. The story concerns two aspiring yet hapless directors, Michal and Mariusz, who concoct an utterly outrageous scheme to produce a film: they will hire dumb-bunny Hollywood actresses to be "knocked off" in a low-budget slasher movie, and force each girl to pay them for an on-camera appearance. To enact their plan, the determined men pack their backs, hotfoot it out of the Mazurian Lakes region of Poland and head for Tinseltown, where they experience one off-the-wall adventure after another. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
