In the first lesson, young Matt prepares to go on a turkey hunt with his father by enrolling in a hunter education course. When Matt's fascination with the ancient hunting techniques presented in his class transports him into the past, his friends Gabe and Gray Eagle mentor the novice hunter in the rules of the hunt, the importance of safety, and the importance of respecting the environment.
