NOVA: Wright Brothers' Flying Machine
This PBS program documents the years preceding the completion of the Wright brothers' first successful flying machine. After their humble beginnings, most of which chronicles the brothers' use of gliders in order to test the efficiency of various wing shapes and a three-axis control system that would eventually become a cornerstone of balanced flight, they finally created a proper aircraft December 17, 1903. This NOVA production also highlights some of the most important moments after their plane's initial flight, including the development of dual-chain driven propellers and the first plane to cross the continental U.S. in 1911. ~ Tracie Cooper, All Movie Guide
