This concert, held to commemorate the tenth anniversary of a series of peaceful protests which dovetailed with the final collapse of the Berlin Wall, features an outstanding performance from the Gewandhaus Orchester Leipzig, under the direction of Herbert Blomstedt, at the Church of St. Nicolai. Selections include Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor", Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5", and Mendelssohn's "Hore Isreal and Furchte dich nict"; guest soloists Nancy Argenta, Viktoria Mullova, and Jurgen Wolf also appear. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
